Montalvo is nestled in the beautiful foothills above Saratoga with 175 acres of hiking trails and gardens.

Our public park welcomes over 50,000 visitors every year to its woodland hiking trails and beautiful grounds. Parking is free and the grounds are open to the public - enjoy a light picnic on the front lawn, read a book under one of many beautiful trees or hike the trails. (Note: the only time Montalvo is not open to the public is during private villa and grounds rentals.)

- Monday – Thursday : 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Friday – Sunday and holidays : 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Oct. 1 - March 31
- Monday – Thursday : 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Friday – Sunday and holidays : 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Holiday Closure
The grounds are closed on December 25 and January 1. Montalvo Arts Center's business office will be closed for the holidays from December 22 through January 1, 2009.
Poor weather, events and holidays may result in park closure. Please call ahead to confirm hours at the Box Office: 408.961.5858, Monday – Friday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Tours of the Villa at Montalvo Arts Center
Walking tours are led by volunteer docents throughout the fall, winter and spring. Learn about Senator Phelan’s country home, his life and his friends, the arts center then and now, and more. Free for Montalvo members and their guests; $10 per person for non-members. Tours last approximately 2-hours. Recommended for ages 12+. Space is limited; Advance reservations are required by calling the Montalvo Box Office at 408.961.5858.
Note: Tours include steps and grades. Please call ahead for an accessible tour. ASL tours for the hearing-impaired available by arrangement.

Free! History Walks at Montalvo Arts Center
Volunteer docents lead free educational history walks of the property on the first and third Saturdays of each month, April-October. Departing from the Project Space gallery, walks last approximately 30-minutes and depart on the hour at 11 am and noon. For details, contact Volunteer Resources or call 408.961.5828.
